Spin The Wheel Of Emotions #EP69



Let’s look at where you spend most of your time emotionally and where you want to be in 2021. For this session you will need to use https://www.simonlovell.com/emotions to guide you through. Look at the wheel and follow the episode as I share with you what it takes to get to the next level of performance and grow.

Life means you feel a whole range of emotions, but for you to perform and be happier, the key is to identify where you live emotionally most of the time. 

This is crucial because you may want to change your default setting – depending on how you feel and where you live emotionally will impact how you live your life.

Transformation happens when you dig deeper into your emotions.

You can get stuck in your emotions for years, but when you start to go deeper and look at the layers of your emotions, you start to untangle the story of what wired you into that emotion.

Go to simonlovell.com/emotions to pull up an image of an emotional wheel. The emotion you choose within the wheel will enable you to look deeper at the different layers of your feelings.

You might spend most of your time in fear, feeling anxious, and excluded. Feeling excluded most of the time can manifest in different ways – it can create loneliness, and that may lead to addiction because you want to feel another way. 

When you start to understand the range of your emotions and break them down it can be very powerful, and once you identify where you want to live most of the time you can begin to question how you can achieve your new state of being.

Commit To Yourself

Look at the quadrants within the emotional wheel, decide where you want to be, and be willing to do whatever it takes to be create your new life.

Look at the life you desire and commit to it. 

Sadly, many people get to the end of their lives having spent most of their life within a negative emotional state.

If you spend a lot of your life in anger, feeling hurt, and betrayed you can stay stuck there – because you’ve wired yourself a certain way for so long it will take a massive commitment, effort, and energy to wire yourself into a new way of being. 

Have a look at the wheel and think about where you currently reside within it. If you’re not in the emotional place you want to be, you need to get to the point where you’re so fed up with the way you’re feeling that you drive yourself to make the changes you need, so you don’t feel that way anymore. 

Get Unstuck

Make the commitment to yourself to get to where you want to be. Commit to transformation, to change, to being a better person, and change your life.

You might not know how you’re going to get there right now, but you can focus on the place within the wheel where you want to be, and be willing to do whatever it takes to be able to create your new life.

When I’m called to shift someone into their next level of performance I deal with a shift of emotions, a shift of energy, thoughts, and beliefs to create a new identity and I’m such an advocate for going deeper within this emotional intelligence work because it changes lives.

From Suicidal Thoughts To Just Running With Life With Mark Shimmin #EP68



Mark Shimmin is a running coach from San Diego and he joins me on the show today to kick off a new segment called In The Zone – a segment of my podcast where I talk with people who work within their zone of genius.

Mark Shimmin is a running coach from San Diego and a graduate of the Super High Performance program. Six months on from completing my program Mark shares how he coaches from his zone of genius and how his life has changed.

Mark has an amazing story. He talks about his lifelong challenge with suicidal thoughts, reconnecting with himself, his family, and how he leads – using running as a way to serve his community.

This is what Mark had to say…

When we first started working together in February of 2020 I was going through heartache and grief. Everything seemed to be going all over the place for me and I felt lost – I came across you and we had a conversation that really opened up the wheels for me.

One of the challenges I faced for many years was suicidal thoughts. I even had a suicidal attempt back in elementary school and that really shifted me, but talking meant we were able to flesh that out. I feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, but that was only one aspect of my life.

Running was the thing I could always count on.

Running was a coping mechanism for my mental health and the challenges of thinking am I worth it, can I say I love you to my mom and dad, can I show up for people in an authentic way?

Cathartic, healing conversations led to me talking about my experience growing up with health issues, with the suicidal thoughts – I noticed a big shift in the way I look at business, how I look at my own training, how I interact with people, and it’s brought a lot more clarity to how I operate.

The shift I had in terms of looking at performance, is that performance isn’t just a number, it isn’t just a placement, it’s how you show up each day for yourself.

If you have clients or people you’re working for, how do you show up for them? Am I showing up authentically as myself versus needing to do the thing to cross the mark or check the box? If I break the five-minute mile but I’m not taking care of other things in my life I don’t feel complete.

Performance is looking at not just one aspect of my life, but myself from a holistic view.

Once I was out of the program I recognized I need to take care of myself first before I take care of anything else business-wise, client wise, or even my relationships or friendships.

I make myself a top priority.

It’s a lot easier to do the things that light me up like the running coaching. I want to go explore, I want to impact others, and yes, there will be challenges, there will be struggles, but on the other side of the challenges and struggles, there’s a beautiful life waiting ahead for me.

How To Have Happiness Trauma From Your Heart #67



Over the years I’ve learned more and more about the power of the heart and it’s easy to close off and protect ourselves. In this episode, I want to introduce you to the idea of happiness trauma, where we start to connect more deeply, love ourselves and love others.

I conditioned myself to not live in the space of my heart. I used to close myself off to protect myself, but when you access your heart you become extremely powerful because you live from a place of creation and confidence

I went through pain in my childhood that caused me a lot of emotional pain and trauma – negative issues you don’t resolve manifest into things such as anxiety, depression, and anger, but you can learn to understand trauma, enabling you to get back into the flow and force of your life.

Breaking through into the positive place in your heart can be so powerful for your well-being – you feel improved energy and focus, and you’re able to be your best self.

Heart Power

When you recognize the coherence between your heart and your mind and you understand how they connect, you allow yourself to live in the space of your heart.

Become intelligent in the subtleties of understanding yourself.

This means you can ask yourself if you are in your heart or have you moved away from it? I used to genuinely say I was grateful or I had compassion, but I didn’t truly feel it because I didn’t know the difference between caring about something and actually feeling it. That can be a struggle for a lot of people. 

Now, when I go deeper into my heart space I well up and have tears running down my face because I’ve felt something so deep in my heart that it touched my soul.

Imagine you have a plant in the center of your heart closing and opening. When it’s open it’s energy force is focus, power, and energy. When it closes, your body tightens up. Your shoulders become tight and you feel frustration, irritation, and compulsion. You start to feel stuck, like nothing’s working. This is when you’re pessimistic instead of feeling hopeful, proactive, and confident.

Link your feelings and your physicality so you’re aware of when your heart is open or closed.

Create Happiness Trauma

There is a positive aspect of trauma so you feel positive energy – I get into a space in my heart so I feel its energy and I focus on it, it changes my body posture, the way I think, and it changes the way that I see things throughout the day. It has a huge positive impact on my well-being. 

With the opening of your heart, you can create a positive trauma – a heart eruption! 

Ride that wave for as long as possible. The longer you spend in the space of your heart makes you more aware of the times when you’re not

I’ve conditioned myself to be in the space of my heart. It’s an ongoing journey through consistency and the depth of the work I do on myself and with my clients. It’s important to be very energetically aware of how you’re feeling and how bad energy transmits to other people and how that energy affects business.

4-Steps To Overcoming Entrepreneur Porn Addiction #66



Is your life being negatively impacted by porn addiction? In this podcast I wanted to share the 4 steps that are very important on the path to recovery for an Entrepreneur. When you take these steps you will start to set yourself free.

Porn is often a taboo topic – it can be surprising to learn that porn addiction takes hold of some people so much that it damages relationships, ruins jobs, or can even force a person’s business to close.

My first experience with porn was when I found a magazine on the ground. I was walking by a river with friends when we came across it, it was soaking wet and covered in mud, but we were curious so we flicked through its pages.

Later on, during my adolescence I discovered a pornographic game on a computer, the goal was to remove pictures so the image of a woman was revealed – I also remember giggling in the newsagents at top-shelf magazines like Playboy, but things changed when pornographic videos and film became easily accessible later on in my life.

Addictive Patterns

I had an addictive pattern of drinking on the weekends, smoking, and gambling. I would also take drugs. That was my cycle, but porn addiction was in there too becasue when I had low self-esteem, and I wanted a pick me up.

Porn is the go-to pick me up for many people – you become so wired to it becasue you crave the dopamine hit, but suddenly you’re caught up in the cycle of it and it becomes addictive.

It’s very common for an entrepreneur to lose connection to his purpose and then move into an addictive porn pattern.

Watching porn gives you a dopamine hit, it creates the feel-good hormone, and you become addicted to that stimulant. Because that feels good, you do it again. Then it happens more frequently.

Imagine a series of dots. Instead of the dot being spaced out once a week, it becomes once a day, and then it moves from once a day to twice a day, and then three times a day. Suddenly you’re in a pattern of doing something unhealthy. You may be thinking what is an unhealthy amount of porn versus a healthy amount of porn? My answer to that is you already know because you’re already sensing what feels right or wrong for you.

Break Free

When you get caught up in habit loops they can be very destructive for you and everything around you, but you can regain your power as soon as you start to break free of them.

Once you recognize and uncover the deeper pain you’re feeling you can move into taking action so you can start to reconnect with yourself and then reconnect with other people, rebuild your life, and get your power back.

You can change your habits.

If porn is dragging you down, it’s causing problems in your relationship, nonaction in your business, and you have a lack of confidence, know that you can change.

How Giving Back Got Me Out Of My Darkness #65



I reached a turning point in my life when I experienced what it truly felt like to give to those who had little or nothing. In this episode I wanted to share with you a few stories of how giving back has helped me and how you can start to give back to others, especially if you’re feeling down.

Years ago when I was in Las Vegas for a mastermind we were given the task of spending a lot of money in a certain time frame. When we got to our final thirty minutes and we still had a lot of money to spend, I had the idea to give the money away.

My heart was pounding as we got out of our limousine armed with hundred dollar bills  – I remember the shock on people’s faces as I paid for someone’s grocery shopping and the tears of gratitude from a man who needed help; we found him with his car bonnet open so we handed him a $100 bill.

That experience made a real impact on me and it was during that time that I started to learn the art of giving back.

The Art Of Giving 

I learned more about the art of giving when I listened to ‘The Power Of Intention’ by Wayne Dyer. He explained that when you give to somebody you’re not just doing it for yourself or the person you’re giving to, but it’s also about people observing your positive action – everybody benefits. You feel happier, the person you’ve helped feels happier, and the people observing what you’ve done feel happier too.

During some of my darkest moments, I’ve got back to feeling myself by giving to other people.

When I was going through a tough time I decided to give some money away. I went on social media and all kinds of people started to share why they needed $100 – what surprised me was the generosity of other people who came into the conversation wanting to offer things to the people in need.

I decided to gift the money to someone who needed help to move from a low number on a housing register to score higher. A lot of kindness came through one social media conversation and it reminded me why giving was so important.

As I started to gift more things to people, and as I’ve evolved, I’ve replaced my scarcity mindset with an abundance mindset.

It doesn’t matter how much or how little you have, you can always give to someone.

When I’ve been feeling hopeless, like there wasn’t a way out, the action of giving has brought me back to having a positive mindset and feeling good about myself and other people – if you’re in a bad place right now, I would encourage you to give to someone else too.

Cultivate Kindness

It could be a coffee, it could be a thing, it might just be something you already that you can gift – maybe you have books sat on your shelf, and you want to give those away.

Take an action today that starts you on your path of giving – however you decide to give to others, you can shift the way you’re feeling and light other people up.

The Bald Headed Belief That Cut Off My Confidence #64



Once upon a time, I had a full head of hair that made me feel super confident about myself, but then something happened and that changed how I felt about myself. This is an important lesson for anyone who has limiting stories about themselves.

About 10 years ago during the drinking phase of my life, I was in a nightclub when a guy walked up to me and said “dude, your hair is thinning so much.”

Even though I was drunk, it hurt, and in the weeks after I felt humiliated, inferior, and inadequate. I was already in a dark place when he hurt my feelings – I wasn’t in the financial place I wanted to be, I had a lot going on in relationships and I remember feeling confused about where I wanted to be in my life.

Because I was super sensitive and emotionally weak I created the story that women didn’t like guys without hair and so I didn’t date for many years – I created a neural pathway in my brain and wired negative stories about myself that badly impacted my self-esteem and my confidence.

Delve Deep

When negative events happen to you they can cripple you, and for a business owner, it’s devastating.

When an event happens to you it amplifies something going on deep within you that you need to tackle and resolve.

You think just one is causing an issue for you but it’s never about just about one thing, there are always deeper issues – one issue can trigger you and tip you over the edge; when I started working on myself I discovered my deep lack of confidence, low self-esteem, and unhealed trauma were at the root of my pain.

Change Your Belief Patterns

When you go through a belief shift process you can create monumental changes and shift gears in your business and your life. It’s a powerful process because once you start to learn how to change your beliefs you begin to get your power back.

If you’re in a negative mental spiral and you don’t know how to catch yourself in those moments or you don’t have the tools to lift yourself out, you start to limit yourself in the actions you take.

You create a ‘thing’ in your mind that you tell yourself is real, but it isn’t real, it’s something you created.

Think about this when it comes to your next level potential – If you’re struggling to take action and you can’t move through, it’s due to the belief system you have with yourself right now. If you want to break through a financial barrier or you want to be in a conscious relationship the belief system you currently have in place will determine your situation.

Your belief systems change everything.

Become aware of the things you’re telling yourself throughout the week, especially in the moments when you’re feeling depressed and anxious.

You are in control of what you can do about your situation. When you commit to going deeper than you have gone before, you bring things from your unconscious into your conscious mind, enabling you to do something about it.

Incubate Your Clients So They Hatch As Winners #63



This one is for the coaches and consultants out there who may need to learn ways to get better results with their clients, or maybe you’re someone who knows deep down you need to be incubated. This takes an honest conversation with yourself.

People would approach me, and ask for strategy. I love strategy. I love building brands, taking an idea, scaling it, and growing it. I’ve done it with multiple six-figure and seven-figure businesses and I love helping other people do that, but as I started working with individuals we would always hit a wall.

We would dive into the strategy, but something would cause a block – meaning they were unable to move forward.

As we started having conversations about relationships and other personal issues, we would begin to unravel the real reasons for the block and lack of action.

Mindset Matters

Many years ago when I ran my company Fitpreneurs I made mindset training compulsory and it made such a big difference to people that I recently decided for anyone to work with me on business strategy, they must first go through a mindset program.

You want to get to your best possible place if you want to scale your business. 

When you’re trying to get your business to the next level, you’re going to face a lot of mental challenges and obstacles – this is why emotional intelligence is so important. 

Many people think emotions have nothing to do with the success of a business, but when you need to take action on something in your business yet you’re unable to, you must break through the reason why you cannot take your next step.

My goal is to bring awareness to the reasons why you can’t take action.

If you’re in fear because you’re avoiding a feeling, the process of unraveling your emotions is critical in developing your emotional intelligence.

Release Yourself

When you release the weights that are holding you back, you start to clear out things emotionally and you gain new mental skills. Your new skills help you to prevent blocks from coming up for you in the future – or if blocks do come up, you can see them, be aware of them, and move past them.

I want to help you maximize your investment. I’ve heard so many times that a program didn’t work or someone didn’t get results.

I know of many people who bought training, and they didn’t complete it – not because they didn’t have the desire or they didn’t intend to, but they either didn’t have the drive to complete it, or they reached a block they weren’t able to move past.

Imagine living in a world where you don’t have blocks so you’re able to work through information, take action, and get results!

Turn Your Biggest “Weakness” Into A Strength Now #EP62



Your ‘weakness’ doesn’t have to always hold you back. In fact, it can be empowering, if you start to look at your life from a different perspective. In this episode I want to share with you more about the process of transformation and a cool story from a call that I was on yesterday.

When an entrepreneur, a CEO, or a founder, it’s important you can operate effectively, efficiently, and powerfully – all of these things come when you bring your unconscious into your conscious mind.

It’s important to understand how transformation works so you can use it to move forward to the next level of your life and drive your business forward.

Become Conscious

When you become aware of something and it shifts from being unconscious to conscious it enables you to evolve as a person – your relationships improve, you become a better leader in your business, and you get to your next level financially.

Your self-awareness is key.

Your moment of power comes when you become aware of things in your life that you were unaware of – this is when you experience shifts.

There are things you feel or do that you’re unaware of, and you have things you’re aware of but you choose not to take action on – these can be basic things going on within you that cause you to feel confused and anxious.

Unconscious feelings can lead to depression because your mind doesn’t understand what’s happening within you, so having self-awareness means things move from your unconscious to your conscious allowing your transformation to happen.

Empower Yourself

When you allow your mindset to shift you appreciate that what you perceive as your weaknesses can be your strengths and you can use them to your advantage.

You realize how you can become empowered, not disempowered by the traits you have, and you can gain momentum in all areas of your life. 

If you feel your weakness is caring too much about what people think, you can turn that around and use it as strength. You can use your caring personality, and your empathy, to create amazing conversations and connect with people on a deep level.

This is a great power to have when you’re running your own business.

Your strengths are key to your development and your personal and professional growth. You do yourself and your business a disservice when you think of yourself as having weaknesses instead of strength.

When you suppress who you are it holds you back, it disables you, and you’re unable to use it as a strength in your business.

Your journey in transformation means you’re continuously diving into things because they are brought from your unawareness into your awareness.

When you become self-aware you gain new layers.

You become stronger and you build a more confident version of yourself. You’re able to take more action and become more courageous.

These are some of the traits that enable entrepreneurs and leaders to grow and scale companies without sacrificing their health.

Sometimes we really want a massage to help us feel better, but sometimes we just can’t get around to it. But my little hack is to use meditation to clear the blocked energy most of the time from my next and shoulders. This short meditation today will give you a short 8-minute massage! 🙂

Sometimes you need a massage to help you feel better – you can also use meditation to clear blocked energy and release the tension you’re holding onto in your body.

Imagine you’re face down on a massage table. Close your eyes, and every time you breathe out, allow yourself to drop into a place of inner peace and relaxation.

The knots and tightness you feel are freed by the positive energy that passes down your neck, shoulders, and through your entire body.

Every time you breathe out any tension you’re carrying is released, making the way for loving energy to pass through you.

Are you currently experiencing depression as an entrepreneur? How do you become happy when you’re experiencing depression? In today’s episode, I want to bring more attention to the solution as it’s World Mental Health Day 2020

This is for you if you’re in a dark place. If life feels heavy, you think there’s no way out, and you can’t seem to get in a good headspace understand that people who seem to have it all together still have dark days – they just have the ability to quickly get back to feeling themselves.

I’ve had many people come to me in really difficult times.

Entrepreneurs can experience challenges, and COVID is a difficult event for many people, and their businesses – if you don’t have the tools to deal with it or the other things going on in your life and business, it’s going to be tough for you to work through.

The Pressure Is On

If you’re running a business you’re likely to be spending more time in isolation than most people. You have added pressures – you launched a business, you take risks, and you’re the creator of your destiny.

It’s important you take care of your mental strength too.

If things feel the worst they have ever been, know you can pull yourself out of your darkness – when you’re in a bad headspace, your mind spirals into negativity, thinking about everything you don’t have.

What’s Your Perspective?

When your attention is in lack, focusing on things that aren’t working as well as they could be, or when something unexpected happens in your personal life, your body shuts down.

Your nervous system becomes exhausted and you don’t know which way to turn. 

A lot of business owners don’t put themselves first. If you’re in a dark place, you need to prioritize yourself and focus on relaxing your mind and body. 

You also need to celebrate yourself. Taking the leap to create a business takes courage – appreciate how far you’ve come!

Even though I work on myself, I still have days when I’m in a funk. I used to feel down for weeks, but as I’ve evolved I’m able to pick myself up faster.

My mum says ‘Simon, you always come back.’

You can come back to yourself and learn to pick yourself up quickly too. If you are in despair right now, I want to remind you that you have a creative power within you that you can access, but first of all, you must take care of yourself and pivot your attention to your own well being

Slow things down, shift your focus and breakthroughs will come. 

The consistency of our own well being will yield your results.
